Thank you for your prayers! We have finally heard about Sivini, and it is good news! His village was burned, but only one person died in the attacks. They have relocated to another area, and some supplies are being gathered to help them get back on their feet. Sivini and his family are safe; who knows how many angels were protecting them. My roommate hopes to meet with Sivini and the other two in a couple of weeks to do more checking of their Old Testament translation. Pray that Sivini will be able to walk here in safety. It will take him a good part of a day to get here, and maybe more. Also, he will be traveling in the general direction of enemy clans.
As for myself, I am enjoying the last few weeks of school. Only 6 left until the end of the year! Praise God for my assistant, Tracy Geis! She is a wonderful, seasoned teacher who's working one-on-one and in small groups with a few of my special needs students. I am amazed how much help even one person can be in the classroom! There are 23 in my class now, including a boy who came just today from America and has only been homeschooled up until now, a girl who is out in the village and communicates with me via radio, and another girl who is in Cairns, Australia while her mother is treated for cancer (Praise: her mother has received a great prognosis after the last surgery and will probably be back before the end of the school year)
It is encouraging to be at a school where we can pray freely and study the Bible. Our read-aloud novel this term is "The Hiding Place", Corrie Ten Boom's autobiography. Her life is an amazing testimony of the love of Christ, and it is such a priviledge to get to read it with the kids.
My dodgy home internet connection has decided to not work altogether for the past week or so, and that is a huge frustration. I am able to check internet at school during lunch and break, though. If you would pray for this samll matter however, i'd be obliged. Fortunately, I have been able to finish this update during my lunch and inform you of Sivini's good news.
I thank you all so much for your emails and prayers! |
